Carlisle Youth Council allows young people to have their say on what issues really matter to them. To find out more please watch a video created Carlisle Youth Council and a local young person who studied at Carlisle College (Digital and Creative Centre).
Carlisle Youth Council is made up of Youth Councillors aged 11-18 and has an objective to represent the voices of Carlisle’s youth. They represent all young people of all backgrounds and create awareness of both local issues and local opportunities for young people - whilst engaging young people in policies and decision making that is likely to affect them.
The youth council is a group of young people aged 11-18 who meet every two weeks to give young people an active voice in the community. We do this through running campaigns and events for young people.
The group also has chances to represent Carlisle at a local level through the Carlisle Partnership’s young person subgroup. We also get a chances to represent Carlisle at a Regional and National level.
For more information and how you can get involved in the group please email: CarlislePartnership@carlisle.gov.uk
More details will follow, however, in the meantime visit their Facebook page

The group does this through running things like the UK’s largest youth ballot Make Your Mark; we will then look at the results from Make Your Mark to decide what campaigns the young people of Carlisle would like to run us over the next year.
The group also has the chance to represent the voice of Carlisle young people on a county level through Cumbria Young Speakers and a regional level through Youthforia.
