Housing Partnership

Carlisle Housing Partnership comprises colleagues from Carlisle City Council; local Housing Associations; & the private developer sector.  The Partnership supports the important contribution of Housing towards the local economy and Housing’s contribution towards health.

Specific areas of work include:-

  • Increasing the delivery of affordable housing
  • Supporting the provision of supported housing (including Extra Care accommodation for older people)
  • Ensuring decent and healthy homes in the private sector (including regulation of private landlords)
  • Reducing the no. of empty properties
  • Homelessness prevention – where this isn’t possible, providing temporary accommodation and assisting people into new permanent homes, including supporting the most vulnerable people.

Carlisle Housing Partnership works closely with Carlisle Partnership to identify any cross-cutting areas enabling opportunities for collaborative working across the wider partnership.
