Workplace Health Workshop - January 2017
On Friday 20th January, a number of partners from across the Carlisle district came together to further develop our locality project on “Worklessness and workplace health”. The day provided the background on how and why the project had developed and considered how it might be developed and taken forward and we will be working to promote the strands over the next year.
It is estimated that 175 million working days were lost in Britain due to sickness absence in 2006 and that the annual costs of sickness absence and worklessness associated with working-age ill health were over £100 billion. This is greater than the annual budget of the NHS. This agenda therefore has huge impacts locally on both health and our local economy.
Many thanks for all of our partners contributions to date. If you haven’t yet completed a “Carlisle Workplace Health Mapping Pro-Forma” please download the work document and return as soon as possible to emma.dixon@carlisle.gov.uk , but preferably before the 31st January 2017”
