FREE Guided Summer Walks 2017

Don't miss our FREE Guided Summer Walks 2017

FREE Guided Summer Walks; 22nd July - 24th August 2017

These fantastic FREE Guided Summer Walks have been encouraging both residents and visitors alike to explore and discover Carlisle and our beautiful surrounding areas. So far our walking groups have visited sites all over our region including Caldback, Geltsdale and Talkin Head; with over 111 people taking part. Walks vary from 3 – 5 miles and are graded by difficulty to help participants decide on the best routes to join.

Our walking program includes both weekend and evening walks, to give you a wider variety of choice and help fit in with your other weekly commitments. Walking has great health and wellbeing benefits; from improving fitness to reducing stress, a bit of fresh air will do you a world of good.

Our cheery volunteer walk leaders will meet you at a pre-arranged designated site where your walk will begin. We recommend wearing suitable outdoor footwear and clothing; unfortunately we can’t control the weather, so popping a lightweight waterproof coat in a bag might be a good idea!

There is still a chance to join the last walk of the season on Thursday 24th August 2017 at 6.30pm – 8.30pm. This last free guided walk will take place around the delightful Wetheral /Great Corby area, where your leader Maurice Dutton will meet you at Wetheral Village Green.  With the popularity of these walks so far, we recommend calling 01228 817158 to book yourself a place.
